SWEET, SWEET PORT

LUCINDA

Early in 1900’s passengers would disembark at Lucinda Beach to gain their land legs before embarking on the next part of their journey to Dungeness on smaller vessels. The road through to Lucinda was not formed until 1930 under the Federal Aid Scheme, after earlier attempts by the Hinchinbrook Shire Council were not succesful in securing enough funding.
