Townsville Enterprise and the Carey Group are proud to launch the 2021 Knowledge Exchange Series, a six-part series hosted across the Townsville North Queensland region, consisting of a range of educational workshops presented by our region's business leaders and industry experts.

This exciting initiative aims to develop and grow our regional businesses' capabilities by facilitating business to business knowledge and skills exchange, collaboration, professional development and networking opportunities.

The Townsville Knowledge Exchange Series will be focused on providing businesses with key information to assist with the how to adapt, seize the opportunities and build in resilience to weather any future business crisis, with Q & A sessions and networking at the conclusion of the workshop.

Col’s area of expertise is wealth creation and retirement planning, investment strategy development for Self-Managed Super Funds, private wealth advice for high net worth clients and agribusiness clients of the firm. In addition to advising clients, Col works closely on driving new client engagement for the firm, and is one of the two Responsible Managers for the Australian Financial Services Licence held by Endure Wealth. Col is originally from a broad acre farming background in the Riverina and maintains a passion for agriculture in dealing with the firms regional clients.

Prior to joining the Carey Group, Col’s background was in international logistics, strategic planning, leadership and management roles in the Australian Defence Force for 21 years. In addition to completing a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning, Col has completed the Certified Financial Planner (CFP® Professional) program, which is the highest  financial planning designation worldwide.

Matthew is a senior finance professional with over 12 years’ experience working with complex spectrum of organisations from small businesses, not for profit entities and complex multinational entities. Mathew brings a diverse mix of industry and sector experience including retail, property, aviation, manufacturing and agriculture.

Based in the Ingham office, Matthew services clients in the Hinchinbrook, Townsville, Cairns and Malanda offices, specialising in taxation and business advice; primarily business improvement, and wealth creation. In addition, Matthew fulfils the role of Chief Financial Officer for the Carey Group.

Miranda Mears is an experienced and passionate leader and consultant with over 25 years of starting, running and exiting businesses. Her special interest and focus areas for business advisory and consulting are in Governance, Strategy, Digital Transformation and Cyber Security. Miranda currently owns a registered Training Organisation Learning Partnerships as well as being the AustCyber Townsville Innovation Node Manager and providing consulting services to Smart Precinct NQ as head of Strategy and Projects. Previously Miranda co-founded Securus Global, one of Australia’s most highly regarded Information Security and technical research companies before selling and floating it on the ASX. It is now part of the Tesserent group of companies which was admitted to the ASX All Ordinaries Index of the top 500 ASX listed companies by market capitalisation.
